Words Matter

Transforming the narrative around aging begins with using inclusive language and avoiding words that further perpetuate ageism.

By simply dropping the "ly" in "elderly" and opting for more inclusive terms like "older adults" or “living community,” our Words Matter project highlights how age-friendly language can positively impact our perceptions and conversations about aging.
